Beer consultant, Mirella Amato, has dedicated herself to promoting local beer and the art of beer appreciation through her company, Beerology Inc, since 2007. She is the only Master Cicerone in Canada and one of only 16 people in the world to have earned this title. Mirella penned the award-winning book Beerology: Everything You Need to Know to Enjoy Beer…Even More – now available in 3 languages. She also contributed a number of entries to the Oxford Companion to Beer. Her work has been published in many beer magazines and brewspapers and she is a beer columnist for Radio Canada. Mirella is one of only ten National Level BJCP judges in Canada and has sat on the jury for the Brussels Beer Challenge, the Canadian Brewing Awards, the Great American Beer Festival, the European Beer Star and the World Beer Cup. She is the recipient of the 2012 Ontario Craft Brewers Centre of Excellence Industry Choice Award in Food & Beer Matching Development. From 2015-2017, Mirella worked as Global Director of Beer Knowledge for ZX Ventures, an Anheuser-Busch InBev Affiliate. Mirella is excited to be part of the inaugural Toronto Cocktail Convention and to have this opportunity to reunite with Elayne, with whom she co-presented at Tales of the Cocktail, in New Orleans last year.
